My research has focused upon the areas of typical and atypical language acquisition in bilingual children and identification of language impairment in bilingual populations. My dissertation project investigated theeffects of language impairment on English language acquisition in bilingual children and differentiation between bilingual children with and without language impairment at different levels of English language proficiency. I have also worked on several research projects that investigated the language skills of bilingual children with and without language disorders and the effects of bilingual and English-only intervention on the development of two languages. In addition, I worked on the development and validation of a criterion-based measure of oral language proficiency for bilingual children.
