Dr.. Christina Gildersleeve-Neumann
came to PSU in 2002.Her teaching and
research interests include typical and atypical speech development in children
from birth to 6, bilingual speech development, appropriate treatment and
intervention for children from culturally and linguistically diverse
backgrounds, and childhood apraxia of speech; she has published articles and presented
seminars nationally and internationally on the latter two topics. Prior
clinical experience includes three years working as a Spanish/English bilingual
speech-language pathologist in central Texas
public schools; she continues to work clinically with children with CAS and
bilingual children in the university clinic and in local Head Start programs.Before becoming an SLP, she spent many years
in international education, including five years studying, teaching, conducting
research, and advising US and international students in Germany and Ecuador. She is a native Oregonian
and still loves spending time with family around BakerCity
and La Grande. She lives with her husband and two children in NE
Portland. She loves traveling, reading, many outdoor activities, and spending lots of time with family and friends.
