Early Intervention Special Education Endorsement
A graduate teacher licensure program to prepare early interventionists/early childhood special educators to provide services to young children (birth to age 8) with special needs and their families
Next cohort begins June 2013; applications due April 1, 2013
Late applications accepted on a space available basis
PROGRAM BENEFITS
- Provide services to infants, toddlers, pre-kindergarten children with special needs, and their families
- Acquire skills to assist children with special needs to reach their maximum potential
- Gain necessary coursework to apply for licensure in EI/SE
FORMAT
- Part-time or full-time on PSU campus
- 55 credits for initial licensure
- Cohort program
- Field experiences include classroom, home visiting, and consultation in child care models
- Focus on working with families from diverse backgrounds
- Obtain master’s degree by adding 9 credits to your licensure credits
- Add an EI/SE endorsement to your EL SPED or GEN ED EL
- Prerequisites: PSYCH 460 or equivalent and SPED 418/518
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
- Students who meet the admission criteria of the Graduate School of Education and Portland State University
