Application Procedures (SPED)

ALL APPLICANTS MUST:

  1. Possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75
  2. Complete prerequisite course work
  3. Complete either the PRAXIS Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST) or the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) prior to applying to the department.
  4. Apply to the University by submitting the University Application for Graduate Admission, the $50 fee, and one official transcript from every college or university you have attended except PSU. Mail to: Admissions, Portland State University, P.O. Box 751, Portland, OR 97207-0751 or deliver to Neuberger Hall, Room 104.5.
  5. Apply to the Special Education Department by submitting the Special Education Department packet. Send one official transcript to the Department of Special Education. Mail to: Special Education-SPED, Graduate School of Education, Portland State University, P.O. Box 751, Portland, OR 97207-0751 or deliver to Graduate School of Education, Room 204.
