School Counseling in Action
School Counseling In Action. This site posts peer reviewed materials developed by school counselors-in-training,
professional school counselors, and teachers. Pointers for Teachers, Counselors, Administrators, and Parents
focuses on practical interventions that may help teachers and counselors work more effectively with administrators,
parents, and students. The Action Research Projects page presents projects or action research summaries completed
during the school counseling internship requirement.
The intention of the site is to provide an open forum for professionals to share what works to build inclusive learning
communities within schools and to help all students learn to learn, learn to live, and learn to work in a democratic society.
Posted materials are developed by the individual authors and are peer reviewed by graduate student colleagues within the
Graduate School of Education. The authors are solely responsible for the contents of their posted materials. The opinions
and positions presented by the individual authors do not represent those of site supervisors, university faculty, or Portland
State University. Questions regarding the quality or contents of posted materials may be referred to Dr.
Patrick "Rick" Johnson at johnsonp@pdx.edu.
