Rehabilitation Counseling Program

Coursework and Elective

NATURE AND SCOPE OF THE CURRICULUM

The approach taken by the RCE Program in the fulfillment of its objectives is to offer a minimum of 77-credit-hour graduate program (formerly 72 credits for 2007 & previous cohorts--see course sequence tables below), on the quarter system, leading to a Masters of Science/Arts degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. This program currently consists of a carefully designed sequence of courses which combine formal academic instruction (approximately 75% of course work) and supervised clinical experiences in the form of practica and internships (approximately 25% of course work).

The degree program may be completed in three years, the clinical internship is completed during the student's final year of study, and the comprehensive examination is taken during the final year. More specifically, the program consists of 77 required courses, including 9 credits of practica, a minimum of 9 credits of clinical internship, and a limited choice of elective courses.
