Curriculum Products Curriculum products developed by Dr. Arick and colleagues include these highly successful programs: The STAR Program: Strategies for Teaching Based on Autism Research (Arick, Loos, Falco, and Krug 2004) was designed for children between the ages of 2 and 12 and is based on the three research-based instructional methods of discrete trial training, pivotal response training, and teaching functional routines.FACTER: Functional Assessment and Curriculum for Teaching Everyday Routines (Arick, Nave, and Hoffman, 2004) was designed for children with autism between the ages of 10 and 21 and is based on the need to teach them to participate in naturally occurring routines as independently as possible.
