The Department of Religious Studies at Vanderbilt University seeks nominations and/or applications for the position of Department Chair.
Appointment will be made (with tenure) at the rank of full or associate professor. We seek applicants with significant experience in academic leadership who have established themselves as distinguished scholars and excellent teachers in their specific fields. Expertise in theories of religion is desired. Region/tradition of specialization is open, though the following are preferred: South Asian Religions (Hinduism, Buddhism), Japanese / East Asian Religions, Modern Islam.
