Professorship in Modern Middle East Studies, University of Southern
Denmark, Odense

The position is available from 1 January 2012. Applicants should
document broad knowledge on the history of the modern Middle East and
prove strong and original research achievements at an international
level. The preferable fields of research comprise politics, society
and/or economics of the contemporary Middle East. In geographical
terms, the Middle East is to be understood from Morocco to Iran and
Turkey to Sudan.

Given the nature of the position as a chair, the successful candidate
should be involved in international research networks, document
research and/or working experience in the region, has the proven
ability to define, manage, and supervise research projects, as well as
to organize international conferences and workshops. Moreover, the
applicants should add a brief medium term research plan to their
application.
