Andrea attended the University of Washington as a Washington Scholar. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors. After graduating from the University of Washington she worked in the research field coordinating a study on blood platelet disorders. Hoping to combine her interest in science with her desire to help others, Andrea attended Lewis and Clark Law School. She clerked in the Federal District Court for the Honorable Owen Panner. Prior to coming to Portland State University she worked as a staff attorney for St. Andrew Legal Clinic.
