Vision Community Resources
SHAC offers a Snellen eye chart test and can make supportive optometry and ophthalmology referrals for any SHAC eligible student. The PSU Student Health Insurance plan does not cover vision, but below are businesses that give discounts to ALL PSU students.
Visualeyes offers discounts to all students, providing comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, LASIK consultations, and treatment of eye infections, injuries, and most other eye diseases. Basic pricing as of Winter 2016:
- $60 comprehensive eye exam
- $40-$68 contact lens fitting (depending on complexity)
- $60 single vision lenses
- 40% off all frames including sunglasses
- Retinal Imaging available (often replaces dilation)

College of Optometry and Vision Centers
The College of Optometry and Vision Centers offer vision exams, eye disease special testing, contact lens care, vision therapy and assistance for the partially sighted. They offer a 25% discount on eye exams for students or they will bill based on a sliding fee. Visits are by appointment only. See locations below.
