Eligibility for Services for 2012-2013 Academic Year
Eligibility for 2012-2013 Academic Year
Any PSU student taking five (5) or more non-self-support* credit hours pays the PSU Student Health fee each term. The Student Health Fee gives a student access to the services provided at the Center for Student Health and Counseling as well as the Student Health Insurance Plan administered by Aetna Student Health.
Fall term 2012: September 20, 2012-January 7, 2013*
Winter term 2013: January 7-April 1, 2013*
Spring/Summer term 2013: April 1-September 20, 2013*
*Insurance coverage ends at 12:01 a.m.
Any student who drops below 5 credit hours within the first two weeks or the Add/Drop deadline of any term will lose access to the Center for Student Health and Counseling and their Insurance Plan. Any claims accrued during this time will be the responsibility of the student.
If you are an international student, you can visit the international student website for more information. You can also read about insurance options and find international insurance brochures on the SHAC International Web page.
*Most self-support, continuing education and course credits received from TV, internet, video, or satellite may not be eligible for the Student Health Fee, and therefore not eligible for the PSU nsurance Plan. If you have questions about the types of credits you are taking, visit: http://www.pdx.edu/financial-services/tuition-fees-self-support-courses. Self-support classes are often indicated in the course catalogue by the blue hyperlink footnotes found between section number and course description.
