Portland State University is proud to host ongoing efforts to address sexual misconduct in our campus community. We are continually working to improve our coordinated campus efforts to prevent and respond to incidents of sexual misconduct. We recognize sexual misconduct as a significant concern that affects the health, well-being, and academic success of our students.
I am pleased to announce two new services that further PSU’s commitment to preventing and responding to incidents of sexual misconduct:
- The PSU Center for Student Health and Counseling now offers a fully integrated Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program to support all students who are survivors of sexual misconduct. Until now, survivors of sexual misconduct have had to travel to off-campus hospitals for this service. Students can now receive trauma-informed medical services (including forensic evidence collection, disease testing, and prophylaxis) here on campus.
- Our new website serves as a centralized point of access for all PSU services, resources, policies and reporting options for students affected by sexual misconduct. This site will continue to be updated to reflect new programs, services updates, and projects.
The current national focus on the issue of campus sexual misconduct has given us an opportunity to reflect on our campus efforts and recognize the hard work of our students, faculty, and staff. Please explore our website for more information about the SANE program and other services, and feel free to contact our staff with any feedback or questions.
