Clark is an entrepreneur, writer, teacher, and translator whose work has appeared in the New York Times, Asiaweek, and many other publications. His books include The Prosperous Peasant, The Swordless Samurai, and Saying Yes to Japan: How Outsiders are Reviving a Trillion Dollar Services Market (co-authored by Carl Kay), which was published in Japanese by Nikkei in July 2006. Clark previously authored the monthly Japan Entrepreneur Report and Japan Internet Report.
Today
he is working on a new, Asia-focused venture while researching
international business model portability through a doctoral program at
Hitotsubashi University. In his spare time he serves on the Portland
State University Center for Japanese Studies advisory board and works on a blog co-authored by novelist Mark Cunningham.
