Profile: PSU Human Resource Management Association attends SHRM National Conference in Chicago

PSU Human Resource Management Association attends SHRM NationalConference in Chicago.  Sixteen members of this award winning chapterattended the conference; their summary report provides a wealth of HRMknowledge.

HRMA is one of the most successful and longest standing studentorganizations at PSU.  Chartered in 1981, it has won the Superior MeritAward (the highest achievement possible) from its professional sponsor,the Society for Human Resource Management, every year since 1982. Through its outstanding advisors, faculty member Alan Cabelly and PSUHRM professional Jenny Sherman, it develops the leadership potentialand professional capabilities of its members.  Chapter members raisefunds to attend the SHRM conference through its annual golf tournamentsponsored primarily by Express Employment Professionals, as well as byachieving donations from the Oregon State Council of SHRM and thePortland Human Resource Management Association.  At the 2009 SHRMconference to be held in New Orleans, HRMA students expect to volunteertheir time with Habitat for Humanity, continuing to rebuild NewOrleans.  For further information, please contact HRMA at psuhrma@gmail.com.
