Individually Scheduled Appointments


Setting up the Appointment

  • Call or visit the Undergraduate Programs Office for an Academic Advising appointment.
  • When you call or visit, please have your ID available for your student ID number.
  • If you are a prospective student, international exchange student or Business/Advertising Minor please indicate this.
  • You will need to state that you want either an Academic Advising appointment or a Career Advising appointment.
  • All appointments blocks are 30 minutes long.
  • Make a note of when your appointment day/time is.
  • You will receive a confirmation email right after you set the appointment, another email a week before your appointment and a confirmation call the day before the appointment.

You can also set up an appointment over skype. 

  • Call the front desk at 503-725-3712 to request a Skype appointment and provide us with your Skype username. Click here to set up a Skype account if you don't already have one.
  • Your adviser will add you to their Skype contact list and email you with your DARS report with notes before your appointment.
  • Be prepared with your report before your appointment and make sure you have a stable internet connection.

Going to the Appointment

  • Make sure you have a list of your questions or concerns prior to your appointment.
  • Remember to arrive early or on-time.
  • The Undergraduate Programs Office is in SBA 240.
  • When you arrive, please tell the front desk that you have an appointment with [your advisor] at [whatever time your appointment is].

Academic Advising

Before your appointment, your Academic  Advisor will print out your DARS and make notes on remaining credits, as well as any questions or concerns you share when scheduling your appointment. You will receive a copy of your this DARS report to take with you. It is recommended that you bring a notebook and pen.

Career Advising

If you want your resume reviewed, please email it to your academic advisor a week before your appointment, so they can look over it before your appointment.
