Business Options and Major Information
The PSU Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration prepares students to work in a variety of fields in business. The degree requires that students develop pre-business skills, including accounting, economics, statistics and communications, before starting the core business coursework, which is typically done during a student's junior year.
The business core includes introductory coursework in each of the functional areas of business, which provides breadth of experience as well as allowing students to explore their own strengths and interests before deciding on an area of specialization (major). Once coursework for the major is complete, the student brings all coursework together in BA 495 Business Strategy, the final course in the program.
Students cannot earn a second degree in the same subject for which they earned their first degree, no matter where the first degree was completed. For example, students who have a degree in marketing cannot earn another degree in marketing.
Students who received an accounting degree outside the United States may earn the accounting certificate. Students who received an accounting degree in the United States are not eligible to earn an accounting certificate.
