Student- Led Services

Students organize and manage a number of services at Portland State. Student Activities and Leadership Programs supports these organizations by providing leadership and professional development, as well as risk management support and additional accounting services.

The Student- Led Services Program is happy to announce that the Graphic Design Center will be joining us this summer!  The Graphic Design Center is currently hiring a Manager.   • Portland State Programming Board
  • PSPB is a student-initiated organization that promotes community, pride and tradition through social events and programs. 

    Food For Thought Cafe
    Smith Memorial Student Union, 1825 SW Broadway, basement
    Food For Thought Cafe embodies sustainability principles, serving tasty, inexpensive, and locally grown food and drinks! Contact for catering through Food For Thought, or to use the space for an event at requests.foodforthought@gmail.com.

  • 5th Avenue Cinema
  • 510 SW Hall
    The only operating college cinema in Oregon and a very beloved part of the PSU community, 5th Avenue Cinema hosts weekly screenings of historically and/or artistically significant films. The cimema fosters community for students interested in film; supports student filmmakers and show their work at the cinema; provides a free venue for student groups and non-profits that wish to show a film; collaborates with other local film organizations; and provides a valuable educational experience for the students that staff the cinema.

  • Littman and White Galleries
  • Smith Memorial Student Union, 1825 SW Broadway, room 250
    The Littman and White Galleries are student- run exhibition spaces at Portland State University.  Our mission is to provide the tools for a critical experience of visual culture through direct exposure to a comprehensive program of contemporary art for students and community members. We envision the Littman and White Galleries as centers for cultural enrichment where an indespensible art experience is accessible to all perspectives and levels of education.   • Portland State Professional Sound
  • PSPS provides sound support to student organizations and other departments and groups. They also host a bi-weekly concert series on campus every Wednesday and Friday at 12pm (Tuesday and Thursday during Summer term). These shows take place either in the park blocks on the main stage or in the cafeteria in the Smith Center during rainy weather. As always, these shows are free to the public. They book music performers year-round (except in between terms) and always book one term in advance.
