What is the University Housing re-contracting process?

Current University Housing residents have the opportunity to re-contract via the online housing contract portal from April 1st-April 30th for the next academic year. We re-contracting early on in order to accurately plan your transfer, or retention of your room. After April 30th we will begin assigning resident placements for the upcoming academic year.

Now here is the important part: if you do not re-contract for the next academic year by the end of the Re-contracting month (April), we will assume that you are vacating your room on the checkout date of June 13, 2009 (ALL Acadmic Year contracts) or September 1, 2009 (ALL 12 month contracts). Your room will be reassigned to an incoming, or transferring student, and you will not have the option of retaining your room, nor receive assignment transfer priority.
