Spring Community Carnival
Thursday, May 1, 2014 - 1:00pm to Thursday, May 1, 2014 - 4:00pm

The Spring Community Carnival is an annual skillshare hosted by the Sustainability Leadership Center. By providing for our own livelihood and needs, we lessen our dependence on oppressive systems and build more sustainable communities. The carnival will offer an opportunity to practice exchanging knowledge and skills such as:

  • Native beading - native beading resonates differently among each Indigenous nation and is utilized for many purposes such as historical and cultural representation, spiritual practice, and therapeutic wellness.

  • Seed swapping - a great way to provide our own food sources and be connected and rooted with the land.

  • Pop-Up Swap - Your opportunity to give, take, and share with student groups on campus! Reuse is the easiest and most effective way to reduce waste and consumption, as well as build community. The Reuse Room will be collecting donations to be shared at the carnival, and all leftovers will be taken to Cramer Hall 180.

  • ...and many more!

A few highlighted organizations that will be present include Campus Rec, Women’s Resource Center, Village Building Convergence, and the Cultural Centers.

Delicious refreshments will be served.

Please join us for an afternoon filled with creativity, community building, and skill sharing.
