Recreation Programs

 

Aquatics and Safety

 The Aquatics Program offers a 25-yard pool, 10-person spa, water X fitness classes, private and buddy swim lessons, youth swim lessons, family open swim time, swim clinics, the PSU Masters Swim Program, and Inclusive swim. Instructional safety courses such as CPR/AED and Standard First Aid are also offered with certification.

 

Fitness and Health Promotions

 The Fitness Program offers a full weight room with over 100 pieces of equipment, an indoor 1/11 mile elevated track, a cario floor with over 80 pieces of equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, incline trainers, cycle bikes and more, complimentary drop-in Group X Fitness classes, a Personal Training program with certified personal trainers, PT (Personal Trainer) drop-in hours to answer general questions, and annual health promotions like Walktober, the Healthy U Wellness Challenge, and Nourish Wellness Fair.

 

Inclusive Rec and Community Service

 The Inclusive Rec program offers adaptations made for all programs, events, equipment, and activities, fitness classes, inclusive open rec time, inclusive sports like wheelchair basketball, sit volleyball, goalball, blind soccer, and more, adaptive climbing, inclusive outdoor trips, one-on-one consultations and tours of accessible options, and accessible equipment and facility features. Additionally, community service opportunities open to the PSU community are offered each term.

Intramurals and Special Events

The Intramurals program offers competitive and recreational sports and leagues such as basketball, indoor and outdoor soccer, flag football, volleyball, dodgeball and more, tournaments, and special events throughout the year.

 

Outdoor Program

 The Outdoor Program offers year-round outdoor trips at affordable student rates that include transportation, guidance, and the use of outdoor gear at no additional cost, a comprehensive outdoor equipment rental center, a 32 ft. climbing wall, climbing classes, special events, youth climbing, free drop-in kayak roll sessions in the pool, clinics and workshops, wilderness first responder courses and outdoor seminars, a volunteer program, and trip leader development.

 

Rec Clubs

The are over 25 student-led and funded men's, women's, and co-ed Rec Clubs that are both competitive and social. Some clubs include Men's Baseball, Women's Rugby, Men's Soccer, Ice Hockey, Water Polo, Sailing, five different dancers clubs, Dragon Boat and more. There are also leadership opportunities via the Rec Clubs Council as well as becoming a club leader.

 

Youth Program

Campus Rec offers members the opportunity to participate with their children during scheduled times for a variety of activities that include youth swim lessons, family open swim time in the pool, drop-in recreation on the courts, youth climbing and annual events like Spooky Saturday during Halloween.
