The Community Recreation Field is available for use by Students, Faculty/Staff and Alumni for open recreation and scheduled events.
The Community Recreation Field is a valuable, but limited resource. The order of priority in scheduling the field is as follows: Academic, Athletics, Student Recreation, Educational and Co-sponsorship Events. Rules Governing the Scheduling of the PSU Community Recreation Field
Principles:
The following principles provide the basis for the governance and scheduling of the Community Recreation Field:
*The use of the field should reflect the University's mission statement.
*PSU has a long-standing relationship with some community partners, they will be accommodated to the best of PSU's ability.
*Suitability takes priority in determining use of the field.
*Groups must comply with the use and attendance policies established by the Peter W. Stott Center.Suitability:
To help determine the appropriateness of an event or activity for the field, PSU has developed a list of factors to measure suitability. They are:
*The event causes no damage to the field.
*The event must be physically active.
*Being outdoors enhances the quality of the event or the event is better suited to being outside.
*the event conforms to the rules and regulations of use.Scheduling
To maximize the ability to provide access to a unique resource, as well as to facilitate resolution of scheduling conflicts between clients, the following scheduling priority system has been implemented for the community recreation field:
*Athletics: A team or team event of the PSU Athletics Department or one of its competitor teams.
*Academics: Any University course offered for credit by the Activity Service Course program usually labeled PE185.
*Campus Recreation: Comprised of the Campus Recreation Program, the Intramural Program, Club Sports and other SFC funded organizations; student groups recognized through the SOC process who comply with the PSC use restrictions; and PSU faculty and staff groups organized for recreational purposes.
*Community Groups: Any external group, which meets the criteria set forward in section 1.1 of the Campus Scheduling Policy.
*Three Cancellations without prior notification will result in loss of scheduling privileges for the academic term.Scheduling Conflicts
Conflicts regarding scheduling if not resolved at the Building Manager level will be forwarded to the Director of Auxiliary Sservices for resolution. If applicable, the Director of Auxiliary Services will defer to the PSC Advisory Board for final resolution.
