Our Program:
Pilates Personal Training is an opportunity for you to have one on one instruction with a certified Pilates instructor. Programs will be tailored to your needs and wants. They will be created with the idea that you can take your own personal Pilates routine to the gym or home and recreate it on your own.
Our program is offered at a fraction of the cost compared to most pilates studios and gyms, and our instructor is well experienced and certified.
What is Pilates?
Pilates, or Contrology, is a way of performing exercise. It was developed by Joseph Pilates, a German born gymnast, boxer, martial artist, medieval weapons fighter, practitioner of yoga, swimmer and more. Joseph was interned in England during WWI and this is where he honed his form. While he taught floor routines to the general population to keep them healthy, he developed equipment for those who were hospitalized so that they could exercise from bed.
Many of the exercises, especially at the basic level will be familiar. As one advances to the "performance" or advanced level, the exercises become more complicated and demanding, these are unique. Pilates is a western - based mind/body program and therefore, is not comparable to yoga in this sense. Pilates also practices very distinctive breathing techniques. Pilates was designed to be practiced everyday and when one becomes conditioned in this form, soreness and "the burn" are almost non-existent, don't be fooled, though, that this means you are not working!
Pilates is a versatile technique and is a quickly grown trend in the US. It has been utilized and enjoyed by elite athletes to those rehabilitating injuries.

Morgan's Bio:
Description:
I am a strong believer in cross training and encourage it in everyone, I do, however, believe Pilates to be the most inclusive training for abs (I mean all six layers!), back, and shoulders. The form balances large and small muscle groups, works equilibrium, and is creative and modifiable to any and all walks of life, including those who cannot walk! Pilates is non-aerobic, but with cross training, we can do anything!
Classes at PSU will be taught with no more than simple props as I am an avid believer in teaching that which you can take home easily.
