All sessions include 8, 30 minutes lessons.
Group swim lessons are designed with adults in mind. Currently we offer group and private adult lessons. As we move into the new Rec Center, we will start to offer American Red Cross "Learn to Swim" youth lessons (estimated start date June 2010). Our certified instructors work with the adult swim lesson participants to meet their goals. There are many advantages of taking group lessons including learning from other adults, supporting each other, and it is more affordable than private lessons. Participants receive individualized attention and are taught how to practice skills on their own. Group lessons are perfect for individuals training for a race or triathlon, just learning to swim or trying to perfect stroke technique. We offer two levels of lessons-Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced. To sign up for Intermediate/Advanced lessons, participants must be able to do the following:
o Swim one length of the pool using a swim stroke (front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke)
o Must be comfortable in the deep end
A session consists of 8, 30 minute lessons.
To register for group lessons, come to the pool office to fill out a registration form. Payment for the session is made in the locker room at the issue window.
Group lessons are $35/session for students and $42/session for faculty/staff/alumni members.
