Cascade Classic Goalball Tournament (Volunteer Opportunity)

Volunteer for the Cascade Classic Goalball Tournament, which brings teams from around the U.S. together for a regional competition.

Each volunteer will receive a tournament shirt and a meal (per session). There will be a volunteer training session on February 1 at the Campus Rec Center on the Mac Court (third floor) from 9:00 am - 10:30 am. If a volunteer is not a Rec Center member then their name will be provided for a guest list. No experience is needed to volunteer.


Transportation is provided for those that need to and from PSU.


Four or eight hours shifts are available:


If you require transportation, here are the available shifts:

February 7: 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm

February 8: 7:15 am - 10:00 pm

February 9: 7:15 am - 2:00 pm


If you do not require transportation, here are the available shifts:

February 7: 2:20 pm - 6:00 pm  - OR - 5:40 pm - 10:00 pm 

February 8: 7:40 am - 12:00 pm - OR - 11:40 am - 6:00 pm - OR - 5:40 PM- 10:00 pm

February 9: 7:40 am - 1:00 pm

MLK Day of Service

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday, January 20, 2014 We are looking for student volunteers to serve on this day. Here are some quick facts about this year’s MLK Day of Service:

  • Support this year’s theme of “Education as a Civil Right”
  • Collaborate with 10 other higher education institutions
  • Serve closely with student volunteers from other institutions
  • Create college-readiness packets for high school students
  • Assist in beautifying local public schools
  • Learn about potential barriers to education
  • Have transportation to and from PSU provided
  • Have lunch provided

This day of service represents Portland State University's mission to let knowledge serve the city. Through this effort we are also supporting Dr. King's goal of "education as a civil right". Please register here.
