Academic Program Overview PSU offers 3 real estate degrees:
· Graduate Certificate in Real Estate Development
· Undergraduate Major in Real Estate Finance
· Undergraduate Minor in Real Estate Development
The programs utilize courses that are offered by
the Schools of Business Administration and Urban Studies and Planning. Courses
are taught using active participation from real estate industry participants. Students may receive qualifying or continuing education credits toward professional Real Estate Appraisal or Brokerage licenses (click here for more information about professional licensure credits).
Graduate Certificate in Real Estate
Development
The graduate certificate program has been designed
to build the technical and analytical knowledge of those who wish to enter the
real estate industry as well as further develop the skills of industry
professionals. Areas of study include real estate development, housing
economics, and real estate finance and investments. Ideally, students enrolled
in the program will possess a Bachelors' degree in Business Administration,
Community Development, or related social science disciplines. Supplementary
coursework to prepare students for entry into the Certificate Program is
available within the University's standard course offerings. Because
certificate courses are offered at the graduate level, credit can be
subsequently transferred into Masters and PhD programs at Portland State
University. The
coursework may also qualify for continuing education credits for industry

Undergraduate Major in Real Estate
Finance
Graduates from the Real Estate
Finance option will understand the impact of the real estate industry on the
local economy, and the dynamics that exist between the various components that
constitute the industry. A depth of knowledge will be developed in financial
accounting, financial instruments, marketing analysis, appraisal, and
investments. The Real Estate Finance degree is the only degree offered by an

Undergraduate Minor in Real Estate
Development
The real estate development minor
is designed for students looking to enter the real estate development industry.
Students in the program will develop skills to evaluate real estate development
proposals and understand how real estate development fits into regional
planning and economic processes. Areas of study include foundations of real
estate development and urban planning, real estate law, market analysis, and
