KOIN-TV: PSU prof builds pressure suit in living room (video)
Portland State University professor Dr. Cameron Smith builds a space suit in his living room. He'll use it to reach 50,000 feet -- the lower stratosphere -- in a balloon he also plans to build. He's already built a prototype for the capsule/module he'll sit in while manning the controls. The professor of anthropology plans to take lfight some time in 2014, after testing his space suit in a hyperbaric chamber, then getting his balloon pilot's license.
