The Institute for Sustainable Solutions and Portland Center for Public Humanities are pleased to offer an in-depth discussion with Tim Kasser on the psychology of identity, values, and sustainability. This discussion is a continuation of the ideas presented in his Solutions Seminar lecture on June 1st .

Tim Kasser is the chair and a professor in the Psychology department at Knox College. His research focuses on materialistic values, investigating how values relate to well-being in various nations around the world, as well as what leads some people to become especially focused on different types of values. He was the Associate Editor of the Journal of Personality an Social Psychology, (2006-2009) and is the author of The High Price of Materialism (2002) as well as a lead author on the highly acclaimed WWF-UK Reports Identity Campaigning, and Our Common Cause
