Scott was born and raised in Yuba City, California, a town known for having the smallest mountain range in the world, and is a self-proclaimed San Francisco Giants “super fan”.Scott graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2004 and shortly thereafter moved to San Francisco where he worked as a Residential Counselor for a non-profit organization, working primarily with foster youth. Scott received his Master’s of Science degree in Career Counseling with an emphasis in College Counseling from San Francisco State University in 2010.During his graduate studies, Scott worked as a Career Counselor Intern both at San Francisco State and the University of California, Berkeley. Scott Broussard joined Portland State University as an Academic and Career Adviser in the Advising and Career Services Office in December of 2010. During his time at PSU, Scott has developed an award winning radio program on PSU’s campus radio station, named Turntable Advising, a talk program which focuses on student success, as well as a program working with current and prospective students who are affiliated with the non-profit agency Outside In. Scott has a passion for supporting students with achieving their academic and career goals, believing in building lasting professional relationships with students during their time at PSU.
