Dr. Truxillo's research examines the methods employers use to hire workers and the way that applicants perceive their potential employer during recruitment and hiring. As such, he examines issues such as applicant perceptions of the employee selection process and high-tech applicant screening systems.
In addition, Dr. Truxillo examines issues associated with older workers (in conjunction with colleagues in Italy and France), including older worker stereotypes, perceptions of aging, and older worker motivation. He also examines issues associated with antecedents of workplace safety.
Dr. Truxillo served as program chair and conference chair for the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) Conference. His work has been published in outlets such as Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, and Journal of Management. He currently is associate editor at the Journal of Management, and he is a member of the editorial boards of Journal of Applied Psychology and Personnel Psychology.
