The Center for Online Learning

Effective, learning-centered online course and program design brings huge opportunities to higher education. It combines the access traditionally provided by distance education with twenty-first century skills needed by all of today’s learners. The Center for Online Learning is here to collaborate with departments, programs, and faculty by providing innovative, research-based instructional design.
The Center has a service model designed to develop best-practices in three ways. Our Integrated Design Team works at the program level to help coordinate courses, instructional strategies, and learning outcomes. This level of collaboration offers the best results and comes with a range of support services including e-tutoring and program marketing. Our Quality Matters Course Review Process uses industry-standard Universal Design criteria to help ensure that existing courses meet baseline requirements for accessibility and learning. The Learning Technology Collaboratory is a joint effort with OIT's Instructional Development Support Center (IDSC) to help faculty with applications, troubleshooting, and individual training.
