The Center for Online Learning
Effective, learning-centered online course and program design bring huge opportunities to higher education. It combines the access traditionally provided by distance education with twenty-first century skills needed by all of today’s learners. The Center for Online Learning is here to collaborate with departments, programs, and faculty by providing innovative, research-based instructional design.

The structure and mission of COL is currently being redefined, as we partner with the Center for Academic Excellence to develop a 21st-century service model of faculty support and professional development.

In the meantime, please continue to contact us for instructional design help, and the Integrated Digital Support Center (IDSC) lab staff for D2L training, support, and troubleshooting.

The IDSC is a 24-hour lab available to the PSU community. The lab has two areas located in the Broadway Building. BHB 226 is a general access lab while BHB 225 is dedicated to faculty, graduate students, and staff. The IDSC team includes one full-time instructional designer from COL. Lab staff can help with D2L training, troubleshooting, and advanced-function issues with D2L. IDSC phone: 503-725-9111.

Face-to-face workshops on D2L are available. The training schedule can be found at http://oit.pdx.edu/training.
