My name is Hilary, but I’ll also answer to “LilHil” or “Hilaire” if you want to try some French. I was born in CO, but spent most of my childhood in Switzerland where I fell in love with all things French. I’ve been living in the Portland area for the past 10 years. Though I miss Europe, I can’t help but adore downtown. One of my favorite things to do is to visit the Art Museum, or to hit up 23^rd avenue. My hobbies include watching TONS of movies (esp. retro, foreign, and indie), reading, writing, doing art, and chilling with friends. The best advice I could give to an incoming freshman is to step out of your comfort zone and try new things. Even if you’re busy with school (which is mostly the case), it’s good to get out every once in a while and take a look at some on-campus events. It’s a great way to socialize and to discover new things which may interest you down the road.
