Teaching trumpet, trumpet pedagogy and coaching chamber brass ensembles is Professor Gerald Webster. He was formerly at Washington State University from 1970-1995 and previous to that he taught at Western Illinois University. As solo trumpet of the West Point Band in New York, he toured the entire East Coast of the United States. In addition, he has performed, adjudicated and presented workshops throughout the entire US, Canada, Europe and Russia. He is a published author and editor of numerous pedagogical works, editions of trumpet music, a world-renowned method for piccolo trumpet and a book which comments on the status of women in the brass playing profession. His article “Brass Embouchure” is included in the most recent edition of the Groves Dictionary of Music and Musicians. Recently he has performed with several Baroque orchestras, including those in Vancouver, Seattle, Boston and Portland. His solo CD, "Gabriel's Choice" has received wide acclaim.
