Meet Risa S. Proehl

Risa S. Proehl has been employed by Portland State University’s Population Research Center (PRC) since mid-1998. Her position is Demographic Analysis Coordinator. She earned her B. A. in Geography from San Diego State University. She completed post-baccalaureate and graduate coursework in Applied Geography with a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) focus and earned a Graduate Certificate in Applied Demography from Portland State University.

Ms. Proehl works on and manages projects such as school enrollment forecasts, community and needs assessments, small area population estimates, and affordable housing market analyses.

* Enrollment Forecast for Portland Public Schools.

* Identifying Geographic Areas with Potential Housing Segregation in Oregon for Fair Housing Council of Oregon.

* Enrollment Forecast for Albany Public Schools.

* Program Evaluation for Boys and Girls Club of Portland.

* Community Assessment Reports for PPS, Albina, Mt. Hood Community College Head Start and Early Head Start of Portland.
