Major: Graphic Design Minor: Business

As a first generation college student Nancy decided to move away from her home state of California to continue her studies and pursue opportunities out of her comfort zone. In her time at Portland State Nancy has taken part in key leadership positions on campus as an Orientation Leader, Resident Assistant, and Student Ambassador. She lives by her mother's words that "education is what you make it," which is the reason why Nancy is thankful for all of her leadership experiences which have taught her the true meaning of selflessness, commitment, and patience. This year as a Hall Director for the First Year Experience Program and a coordinator for the Student Ambassador program Nancy is looking forward to the challenge that comes with leading a staff. In her future Nancy hopes to start a non-profit organization with a focus on education, leadership development and art for children of marginalized groups.
