Goals: Tyrell hopes to play basketball overseas and begin a successful business enterprise.
Major: Business Minor: Environmental Sustainability
Tyrell grew up in the town of
White Rock, near Vancouver, B.C. He was brought up in family that honored good
morals, respect, and a positive attitude. In the seventh grade, he transferred to a small Christian private school
for basketball. His high school
basketball coach really stands out as having influenced his life by relating
school and life values through successes and hardships on the court,
emphasizing his development as paramount. He admires greatly his parents’ continual support of him and his
brothers, and learned about the importance of a positive attitude for success
from his father, who always told him: “if you tell yourself you can’t do
something, it will never
happen.” His mother taught him
acceptance and respect for people of all walks of life because one can find
good in every person and learn something from them. The most important issue in his life right
now is being a leader in service to others by using the resources available to
him to impact positively as many people as possible.
