Major: Child & Family Studies 

Carmen was born and raised in Portland Oregon, so it is very important for her to pursue her education in the community she loves. She transferred to PSU from PCC in the spring of 2006, specifically for the Child and Family Studies program. She did not pursue higher education until the age of thirty and is proud of the strides that she has made along the way, and the example she has set for her children. Being a first generation college student she can tell you that it is never too late to change your destiny through higher education. Carmen says everyday I drive to campus and I tell myself that I am here so that I may one day, “let my knowledge serve the city.” Representing PSU as a Student Ambassador is one of my greatest academic honors.
