Alex grew up in Durango, Colorado. Before coming to Portland State he worked at Willamette University, Fort Lewis College and Marist University. Alex has been married for ten years to his wife Hanisi, and has two children, Kendall and Sebastian. Alex was a competitive runner but has a new favorite sport - cyclocross. Alex loves the city of Portland and the wonderful outside activities that the Northwest offers. Alex received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a secondary degree in Psychology, and then a Master of Arts in Education Administration and Policy Analysis from Stanford University.
