2007 Spring Commencement

commencement crowdFor the 12th consecutive year, Portland State's 2007 graduating class was larger than that of the previous year. A total of 4,670 degrees were awarded (3,050 bachelor's, 1,580 master's and 40 doctoral).

The spring commencement ceremonies were June 16 at the Rose Garden Arena. Nearly 1,700 graduates received their degrees at the ceremony and celebrated along with 12,000 family and friends. Former Oregon Governor Barbara Roberts delivered the commencement address and received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Portland State.

This graduating class joins 110,000 PSU alumni, over 72,000 of whom live in the Portland metro region. This year's class represents 145 towns and cities in Oregon, 46 states, Guam and the District of Columbia, and 50 countries. The youngest grad is 19, the oldest is 77. Women represent 58 percent of this year's grads.
