The Artists Repertory Theatre and the PSU Theater Arts Department collaborate to bring Hungarian and American artists together to share cultural experiences.

Students participate in a Senior Capstone course designed to fulfill a request by the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association to create a history of the Chinese culture in Oregon.

Our Community Partner: Ethos, Inc.
Ethos, Inc. seeks to introduce a whole new generation of youth to the magic of music. PSU Capstone students partnered with Ethos to design and deliver an arts education curriculum that used jazz to enhance student learning outcomes in mathematics and reading.

This partnership between Portland Public Schools and PSU uses choral music to share literature, concerts, and expose high school students to a collegiate music experience while enhancing their music program at Franklin High School.

Our Community Partner: Friends of Chamber Music
This partnership allows PSU to host some of the finest chamber ensembles in the world on campus and provides master classes with these ensembles for PSU students.

Our Community Partner: Glenfair Elementary School
Students participate in a Native Literacy program, enabling them to witness firsthand the challenges faced by schools with large populations of children for whom English is not the main language spoken.

Our Community Partner: Institute for Judaic Studies
The Institute for Judaic Studies collaborates with PSU to offer lectures and cultural events, including co-sponsorship of visiting scholars and writers and professors, to adults interesting in studying Judaic history and Judaism.

KBOO allows students to gain firsthand experience putting music and activism together in the Portland area by exploring alternative routes to political activism and community involvement.

The Jazz Outreach Forum Senior Capstone - PSU Capstone students design and deliver an arts education curriculum that incorporates jazz to enhance student learning outcomes in mathematics and reading.

Our Community Partner: Multnomah ESD Outdoor School
The ESD Outdoor School is designed to teach field-based science concepts as they relate to natural resources, to extend science instruction beyond the classroom and to implement activities that provide opportunities for participation in cooperative living experiences, performing arts, recreation, and structured events.

Our Community Partner: Native American Youth Association (NAYA)
NAYA works to increase opportunities for healthy activities by promoting family stability, youth camps, support groups, cultural activities, tutoring classes, and special events. PSU students assist in helping the agency grow from a small recreation program staffed by volunteers to a fully sustainable youth community center.

Our Community Partner: Northwest Film Center
This partnership combines the practical filmmaking resources of the NWFC with PSU's academic expertise. Students can take classes at the NWFC for PSU credit, and vice versa. Students are able to pursue a BA or BS at PSU and receive a certificate in Film Studies at NWFC, as well as a Minor in Film from PSU.

Our Community Partner: Portland Art Museum
As the Consulting Curator of Korean Art, Junghee Lee guest curated two exhibitions, In Pursuit of the Tiger in 1995 and Permanent Korean Art Gallery in 1997. PSU Asian Art students are admitted free for classes held at the Portland Art Museum, and the Curator of Asian Art, Mr. Donald Jenkins, gave free lectures showcasing original Japanese prints until his retirement.

Young Audiences (YA)works to bring artists into the Graduate Teacher Education Program at PSU and emphasizes the use of the arts as a tool for reflective thought and other teaching practices.

Students in the Strategic Management for Non-profits University Studies Capstone course assist with the sustainability and growth needs of p:ear, an organization which uses education, art, and recreation to address homeless youth needs.
