Ann Crandall has been a member of the PSU music faculty since 1992. She is also a faculty member at Clark College where her favorite class is the History of Rock & Roll. She has also served on the faculties of Willamette University and University of Arizona. Dr. Crandall received her B.A. and B.Mus.degrees from the University of Washington where she was a Rockefeller grantee. She earned her M.M. and D.M.A. at the State University of New York at Stony Brook where she won the Sunwood Award. She has studied bassoon with Arthur Weisberg, Steven Maxim, Sol Schoenbach, and Sherman Walt. Ann is a tenured member of the orchestras of Portland Opera and Oregon Ballet Theatre, and has been the featured soloist with Salem Chamber Orchestra and Clark College Orchestra. She especially enjoys working with young musicians as clinician, coach, and adjudicator.
