Education: Graduated Multnomah College, 1971

 

Experience From 1990-1996 Sandra worked as a Consultant and Trainer under a federal grant from the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services. Later she was a Social Service Specialist with Oregon Department of Human Services, providing for recruitment, retention and training of foster, adoptive and relative caregivers. Since 2003, Sandra has been a Training Specialist with the Child Welfare Partnership. She serves on the board of the National Indian Parent Information Center and has presented workshops at the National Indian Child Welfare Association (NICWA) conference. She also presents workshops annually at the National Indian Parent Information Center (NIPIC) conference. Sandra has received awards from the Foster and Adoptive Family Foundation and the Native American Youth and Family Center of Portland Oregon.

 

 

Teaching/Training Areas: Provides training for caregivers and child welfare staff on a variety of subjects, including but not limited to:  Child Development; Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders; Loss and Grief; Behavior Management; Internet Safety;  Domestic Violence; Sexual Abuse; Documentation; Fathering; Transitions; Trauma Informed Parenting; Vicarious Trauma, and Visitation
