As an Education Abroad Advisor, Rachel works closely with PSU students to mentor them through the process of selecting, applying and being accepted to education abroad programs that are offered through the PSU Education Abroad Office.
Rachel advises students who are interested in studying in Europe (Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden), Latin America, and Oceania
Rachel’s first study abroad experience was through a faculty-led program focused on Mass Media Communication and Journalism in Australia and New Zealand when she was attending the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay. After transferring to PSU, she studied abroad through the PSU Education Abroad Office on a summer Spanish language immersion program. She also completed her PSU senior Capstone abroad in Costa Rica, which ended up being her last course during her undergraduate education.
Rachel received her B.A. in Social Science and Arts & Letters and a Minor in Theater Arts from Portland State University. She is also currently pursuing her M.S.in Leadership in Sustainability Education at Portland State University.
Rachel’s passion for traveling internationally and learning about different cultures was first cultivated by a family trip to Mexico City when she was 6 years old. Since then she has traveled several different countries, and her favorite international travel experiences have been in Australia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Germany, New Zealand, and Spain.
