The National Quality Improvement Center on Early Childhood (QIC-EC), out of the Center for the Study of Social Policy, awarded a doctoral dissertation research support fellowship to Peggy Nygren (SSW, PSU).
Three awards have been given to advanced standing doctoral students conducting research on preventing child maltreatment and promoting child and family well-being among infants and young children (0-5).
The funding period is October 2011 - September 2013 ($25,000 each year for up to 2 years). Nygren's project title is, Exploring the Buffering Effects of Protective Factors Among Parents at Risk for Child Maltreatment. She will be working with Dr. Beth Green out of the SSW's Center for Improvement of Child and Family Services.
