Profile

B.A. Sociology, University of California, Santa Cruz
M.S. Career Counseling with an emphasis in College Counseling, San Francisco State University
Scott was born and raised in Yuba City, California, a town known for having the smallest mountain range in the world, and is a self-proclaimed San Francisco Giants "super-fan." He joins Portland State University as an Academic & Career Adviser in Advising & Career Services.
Scott graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2004 and shortly thereafter moved to San Francisco where he worked as a Residential Counselor for a non-profit organization working primarily with foster youth. During his graduate studies at San Francisco State, Scott worked as a Career Counselor Intern both at San Francisco State and the University of California, Berkeley.
Here at Portland Statue, Scott has developed Turntable Advising, an all things advising radio program, and a program that works with current and prospective students who are affiliated with the non-profit agency Outside In.
And amazingly, Scott is a distant cousin of the music phenomena that is Beyoncé.
