Profile
Juncao received his bachelor's (04) and master's (06) degrees in electronic engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology in China. He anticipates receiving a Ph.D. in computer science from Portland State University in fall 2010. Juncao is currently working as a research assistant in the Department of Computer Science at PSU and has completed two summer internships with Microsoft. "It is an honor to be named a Maseeh Fellow and I will strive to be an excellent representative of the Fellowship," writes Juncao. Juncao would like to contribute to the development of high-confidence computer systems. Our everyday life increasingly depends on computer systems from the embedded controllers of our cars to high-performance servers processing our banking transactions. This very dependence requires that these systems be: safe, secure, reliable, and trustworthy. His vision is to develop theories, techniques, and tools that can be utilized by computing practitioners to build high-confidence systems. They must be developed in a coordinated manner to address the challenge of building high-confidence systems.
