"I was attracted to the Urban Honors Program because I am a girl who seeks challenge and experience. The Honors Program’s promise of “an engaged and challenging educational experience using the city of Portland” along with opportunities such as internships and research projects is very exciting to me since I’ve always lived near Portland and I love the city. I have always enjoyed community engagements and have volunteered with local organizations and therefore I want to take advantage of its resources and give back to its community. Currently, I am on the starting line to prepare myself for graduate school to pursue a career in dentistry. So far this program has surely been challenging and I love its small environment in a large university. I am grateful for the faculty’s support, which they have already given me and am confident that this program is going to help me greatly in my future career. I feel blessed to be able to spend my four years in the Urban Honors Program as I grow in its attributes and fully engage in its motto, Let Knowledge Serve the City."
