Profile

Cher has been working as an accountant in the Portland area for the past ten years.  She earned her Bachelor's degree from Central Washington University in 1995, and moved to Portland in 2000. Cher started her career as a staff accountant for a nonprofit company that cared for disabled adults.  She soon moved on to manage accounting departments for various manufacturing and construction companies, as well as spending some time at a local advertising agency.  Prior to coming to work at Portland State University, Cher spent the past five years as the Operation Controller for a local home builder. She is originally from Wenatchee, Washington, but enjoys having lived all over the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Outside of work, Cher is a wife and mother of one young son. She enjoys running, sports, theatrical performances, reading, music, family time, math, puzzles and most outdoor activities.  She is most happy when spending time with family, and enjoys helping out with her son's youth sports and activities.  Cher is very pleased to be a part of the Portland State University's budget department and finance team.
