Meet Anousha Sedighi - Persian

Anousha Sedighi (2005) Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Persian

Dr. Sedighi received her Ph.D. in Persian Linguistics from the University of Ottawa in Canada. She is the recipient of the several awards and grants including the Best Student Paper Award of the Canadian Linguistic Association (2004), the University of Ottawa Excellence Scholarship, and the PSU Faculty Enhancement grant. Her research interests include Persian linguistics, Persian language pedagogy, and Persian as a Heritage language. She has delivered papers at numerous international conferences and has authored several articles. Her recent book entitled "Agreement Restrictions in Persian" is part of an Iranian Studies Series published by Purdue University Press & Rozenberg. She directs the Persian Program at PSU and teaches courses on Persian language, culture, and literature. She is the co-designer of the "Persian Proficiency Assessment Tool," a computer-based proficiency test developed as part of the STAMP project of the Center for Applied Second Language Studies at the University of Oregon. She is also affiliated with the Middle East Studies Center at PSU and serves in the award committee of the American Association for Teachers of Persian.
