Marcia Klotz. Advisory Board Member of the Holocaust and Genocide Studies Project

Marcia Klotz is an assistant professor in the English Department at Portland State University. She regularly teaches a course in Genocide in Literature and Film.

She received her Ph.D. in German Studies from Stanford University in 1994.  She has since taught at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and at the University of California, Irvine.
Her dissertation looked at the relationship between the German colonial campaign in Africa and the rise of National Socialism.
Her research interests include a current book project on the affective resonances of the contemporary debt economy, sexuality studies, film, gender studies, and Marxism.
She is also an advisory board member of the Holocaust and Genocide Studies Project at the Portland Center for Public Humanities.
On March 13th, 2013, she led a discussion on the film The Pianist, an event sponsored by the Holocaust and Genocide Studies Project.
